Complete all 3 fun projects!

Felted Wool and Hand Spun Yarn Barrettes!  Design and make your own barrettes!  We’ll use leftover handmade felt from an Idaho hat maker, vintage buttons, and hand spun yarn from a local Indie yarn spinner!  All you may need to know is how to sew on a button!

Create your own Modern Art for your bedroom!  Create a set of 6 painted wooden Art squares!  Bring in 3 of your favorite things for inspiration… a favorite shirt, bracelet, pillow, etc…  Create art to match YOU and your room!

Make a Bohemian Inspired Pen Cup with Hand Made felt!   We’ll use tin cans, the cuffs of wool sweaters, and handmade felt from an Idaho hat maker to create one cool Pen cup!

Kids Camp will be held July 14,15 and 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. here at our Gallery.  Our instructor this year will be Lancaster Folk Artist, Maggie French!  Kid’s camp is open for children ages 10-12 years.  See Maggie’s work at www.sweetmaggiemay.blogspot.com  Cost per child is $125.00- save $25.00 when you enroll 2 or more children from the same family!  There is an additional $15.00 per student materials fee.  Class sizes will be kept very small- no more than 6 children.  Fee is due at time of registration to hold your child’s place.  Call Cindy at 569-9335 to register!

3 week Intermediate Watercolor painting classes In this intermediate class students will paint from photographs or still life setups.  Prerequisite for class would be a beginner class of some type.  Students should complete 1-2 projects in the three week class period.

Classes to be held three Tuesday evenings, May 26, June 2nd and June 16th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Cost of the three week session is $125.00 + $10 per session rental of materials.

Artist Bio- Linda Gaston Linda Gaston has a degree in Art Education from Penn State and did graduate studies in studio Art at Purdue University. She studied Watercolor with a local artist in Dutchess County, N.Y. and taught Adult Art classes, and after- school classes in her home there for many years. Many of her young students majored in Art at the college level.

After moving to Lancaster in 1993, Linda taught at the Lancaster County Art Association, the Iris Club, the Manheim Township Recreation Dept., and some home-school classes, and now has a small group private class at Grandview U.M. Church, where she is “Artist in residence”.

Linda has shown her works at the Lancaster County Art Association, Penn State York campus, and the Lititz outdoor Art show. Watercolor has been her medium of focus for over thirty years. Linda is especially experienced at teaching basic technique to the beginner, and very much enjoys working with more advanced students also.

Wednesday afternoons from 1:00- 3:00 beginning Sept. 24th, ending October 29th; or

Thursday evenings from 6:30- 8:30 beginning Sept. 25th, ending October 30th.

Stephen Leed bio

Stephen Leed is a self taught Wildlife and Equine Artist from Lititz, PA, who mostly works in oils. Born in Lancaster, he began painting as a hobby in 1971. His first exhibit of his work was the Annual Lititz Outdoor Art show in 1974. He still exhibits each year in this show.

In the late 1970′s Stephen began to specialize in wildlife subjects. After submitting samples of his works to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, he was invited to exhibit at the Annual Middle Creek Wildlife Art show in 1986. His work first appeared on the cover of Bird World Magazine on the January/February 1991 issue. In 1994, and again in 1996, He won the Game Commission’s Working Together for Wildlife Competition. To date, Leed has had nine covers on Pennsylvania Game News, and five on Bird Watcher’s Digest.

In recent years, Leed has also become known as an equine artist. Three of his paintings have been shown at the International Museum of the Horse, in Lexington Kentucky, as part of the American Academy of Equine Art’s Fall open juried show. His painting, “Not so Endless Summer” was the 2007 People’s Choice winner at the Lancaster Open Art Award Show. His other awards include finalist in the Artist’s Magazine 2000 annual Art competition in the Animal art category, and first place flat art at the Lancaster County Woodcarvers and Wildlife Art Festival in both 2000 and 2001.

These unique and creative fused glass tiles are done by Lancaster Glass Artist Mike Bovie. Each piece is individually created by building up layers of colored glass, then firing them in the kiln where the colors fuse together to create the beautiful designs. Each piece is then mounted on a clear glass base, matted and framed in a beautiful custom frame.

Barns

The church has only had 4 senior pastors in 70 years. 3 of them were able
be present at this event. Dave Allen, Eric Creighton, and Johnny Miller.

Paul Hollinger shared a little about the history of the church

Pastor Reid, a former member of the pastoral staff gave the morning message.
Out in the lobby and on easils at the front of the auditorium were samples of church documents and memorabilia.

And if you thought the morning service was awesome, The evening service
had even more surprises.
Jerry Heath (former music pastor) and his wife Nancy came back and participated in the evening celebration. It was wonderful to see them again.
